Photo Printer: Samsung SPP-2040

$85

Photo printers should print photos that look like photos, not like a pixelated version of what you’d get from the drugstore after waiting an hour or a week. The quality, consistency, and speed of what the Samsung SPP-2040 delivers is really good–no one can tell that these were printed at home rather than in a lab. There’s an LCD preview screen and a memory card reader so that you don’t have to hook it up to a computer. It will only do 4×6 prints, but conveniently, that’s what most albums are holding nowadays, and usually anything larger would be from a special event where a photographer copywrites all the images and charges a bundle for each print anyway. The ink and paper for this printer are expensive, but it’s completely reasonable to pay about 40 cents per print when you know you’ll get a high-quality image quickly and conveniently.
